So, Jessi...You're calling me a loser? Well, guess what? I am!
Act 1, scene 1: living room
Chrissy: It's snowing so much I can't go outside. This is great, I don't have to go to work. I'm gonna eat a lot and sit here and not work out at all.
Act 1, scene 2: living room
Chrissy: Well, I have to go back to work tomorrow and I feel pretty disgusting. But the Olympics have been fun so far. I also haven't been doing any exercising because of them...I gotta do something.
Act 2, scene 1: basement
Chrissy: Wow, I have a box of Nutrisystem stuff down here from before we moved (5 months ago). Maybe I should just do that stuff. It will make me feel better, eat better, and look better and it will get rid of a giant box. But, if I do it, I have to do it right.
Act 2, scene 2: kitchen
Chrissy: Ok here goes...Nutrisystem pancakes, an egg, and 1/2 a cup of orange juice. Done.
Act 3, scene 1: bathroom
Chrissy: Man, I wish I would have stepped on the scale before I started this, because I weight exactly 150 now. I know I was heavier than that. I wonder how much I have lost in two weeks?
Act 3, scene 2: basement
Chrissy: Ok, time to work out again. Doing the elliptical goes along quite well with watching HGTV or reruns of the Simpsons... This is great! And I feel awesome!
So there Jessi! Call me a loser; I don't care! I'm down 7 since I started the whole thing right? And I have another 4 weeks of this crap food to go. I'm gonna eat it, and I'm gonna like it (well, not the taste really...).

valentines day weekend!
Hello- so you all are pathetic. No posts......
ok sorry, i love you, but we need to keep up with this. Otherwise I'M GONNA WIIIIIINNNN!
So I have been doing pretty well. I am still doing 5 days of cardio and 3 lifting, etc. It's going pretty well. I am trying to do fun classes such as body tone, step, and hopefully I can get to a yoga class or kickboxing. My schedule doesn't allow for much so we'll see what I can do. I am down another pound and weighing in around 123.5. This process is slow, but I guess that hopefully means it will stay off! I am REALLY enjoying the ability to be creative with the vegitarian lifestyle. Other than Monday nights I typically get to cook dinner, which is great! The weather is quite cold (about 37 today) so I am still inside on the treadmill or other machines. My new favorite machine is called the Gauntlet. It is a monster stairstepper that in my opinion, is the best workout in the gym. WOO it kicks my rear.
Giving up sweets again for Lent. They are just so tasty and I'm not thinking coffee will make the cut this year. Its too cold and I just don't wanna...... sorry God.
LOVE YOU AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY-----------!

I'm donw, for sure, but I really don't know by how much. Yes, that sounds weird to me too. The problem is that I'm now using the Wii to weigh in, and I originally started on the scale in the bathroom. I think the weight says a higher number than the bathroom scale, but that's what I'm going by, and I'm at 152...something like that. 2 weeks ago (Sunday) I set a goal on the Wii to lose 5 lbs by this Sunday. As of this morning I was .2 lbs away. So I've got 2 days and .2 lbs to go. I think I can do that. It's the weekend now, so it'll be harder, but I'm still going to try. Then I think I might set a new goal of 5 lbs for the next 2 weeks. That should be even harder, because we're spending next weekend in NYC. And I WILL be trying a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity3.
Well, I'm out for now, maybe to take a nap, or watch Oprah. I'll check back in on Sunday.
Love ya, losers!

slump
So I guess I haven't been working too hard- or the Phi Kappa Psi men fed me too well last weekend, because the scale is ugggly. Been lifting weights and running every m,w,f and i think I have time this Saturday and possibly Sunday to try yoga. I think it would be a good time to reflect and de-stress. This semester is ridiculous. The class work doesn't stress me out much yet, but my schedule is crazy. A nice time to unwind would be good. The weather is getting nice and I would like to get back to running outside. Since it has been so cold I havent been able to be outside, therefore the half marathon will have to be put off until another time. One day...
Happy exercising!

wiiiiiiiiiiii..............fit
I got off track last week. Started to feel a bit sick on Wednesday, then full blown sick on Friday, complete with a tooth ache(sinus pressure) and a fever. Naturally then I was too tired to cook dinner, so Sumo stopped on his way home from work and picked up chinese. It was delicious, well, what I was able to actually taste of it. My only problem: I didn't control my portion. I stuffed my face full. It was wonderful and awful in one fell swoop.
Then came Saturday...We threw a party. Stromboli, mini-corn dogs, pizza dip with veggies, chips and dip, Apple brandy custard pie, crackers, wine, wine more wine. I've gotta say I didn't do too badly, but still, it was bad enough.
So yesterday, when all was cleaned up and back to it's normal quiet state, Sumo hooked up the Wii fit. We tried it out a little. The yoga is pretty good. There's a balance board that you stand on, it gauges your posture and where your balance lies to determine which direction you're moving in and if you're doing it correctly. Sumo did a Wii fit run where he had to follow a dog (he kept trying to out run it and his Mi - the character you are when you play - kept falling all over the place). We even did a downhill slalom race. It's difficult, but also a lot of fun. There's hula hooping, step aerobics, kick boxing, strength exercises...so much. It's really pretty awesome.
In fact, I think I'm going to go get ready, put in a load of laundry and work out. Watch out this week, here I come!
Oh also, found a great snack. Weight watchers makes little dessert cakes, kinda like Little Debbies. I have the lemon, the chocolate, and the sponge cake: 60 cal each. Only problem...Sumo has found them.

HOLLLLLAAA!
Happy friday, fools. I weighed in at 123.5.... BOOOOOOM. I haven't wanted meat at all. and I love it. Sam is here and she is into nutrition so she is teaching me all kinds of new things.
The gym I go to has a 90 day challenge. Wish y'all were here to do it! The top winner gets $1,000 plus a free year membership and a year's worth of massages!!!!!!! What the heck! I'm not sure I will be a winner, but I am going to work just as hard!
How about this earthquake? I think I'm going to do something about it.... any thoughts?
Happy working out!

oh well!!
Today I weighed in at 192.9, not much different from 193.6 but still a loss. Just think how much I would have lost if I had urinated before weighing in. Anyway, didn't have time to exercise this week or I probably would have been in the 80's. That is my goal for next week; be somewhere in the mid 80's. Adios senoritas!!

Pow!
Being back to work blows. Big time. But at least it helps me stay on a good eating schedule: breakfast at 5:50, snack at 9:30, lunch at 1, dinner at 7, bed at 10.
For breakfast all week I've been making Smart Ones brand breakfast quesadillas. They're so yummy, cheese and veggies, even bacon! And...they're only 210 calories! Leaves me with plenty of room to have my morning cup of milk. Rounding out nicely at a 300 calorie breakfast.
I only worked out 3 times last week. I'm trying for 5. It's just difficult when you have to wake up at 5:30, don't get home til 7ish, and need to sleep by 10:30. So, I'm still working on that dillema.
But the 3 times paid off: I'm down to 154 even. That's 2.8 lbs. I think that's pretty good since I'm not making any drastic changes here. I'm still eating what I like (even went to a hibachi restaurant this week, ordered the rotting carcuss, medium rare, and loved every minute of it), just mainly adding some exercise to it. Trying to pay more attention to portion size, but don't want to deny myself of things, cause then I'll do something drastic, like eat an entire weekender of Middlesworth in one sitting. Can't afford that.
Well, it's 12:30 and I've got stuff to do: take down the Christmas tree, put dinner in the crock pot, post office, bank, grocery & liquor store...I still need to eat lunch, too! So wish me luck, I'm off.

Friday January 8th
Today I weighed in at 193.6, a loss of over 3 lbs. Don't really know how I did it other than I did incorporate exercise into my daily routine. I finished off the bag of nuts Mom got me for Christmas, most of the chocolate minis and much of the peppermint bark. In other words i ate like normal. If and when I decide to really get into this competition I will win hands down. Have a good weekend!!
BOOM!
Good morning suckas! I have gone my first week and am -3. Thanks to my tofu and veggies I am slimming down.
Heading out for a camp retreat with all 58 chapter presidents for this weekend. Should be tons of snacks and fat soaking items to eat.... yikes. Will do my best to WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN.
Love yall. roll tide.

IM GONNA WIIIIIIIIN.
Hello. So I ate/drank a ton of crap-o-la in 2009. Thank goodness for the new year and new goals. After the wonderful players reception and binge drinking of NYE I weighed in at a lovely 128.5. Fantastic.
But things are looking up. I have decided to give up meat and some other animal products. My first challenge was the players reception and it wasn't that I wanted to eat it, it was simply that there wasn't much else to eat. Luckily there was fruit and some beans, bread, and coleslaw. I dont really foresee it being a problem and even more of a challenge to me. You know I like competition.
Upcoming is a 15k (9+miles) race in January and a half marathon (13 miles) in February. I hope to be able to do both. Things have to change though. I like to think I eat pretty well at school. Maybe because life is so hectic or I cook for myself and am too poor to go out. Hopefully 2010 is good to all of us and with this we can support each other and get healthy. I worry about the ones I love - we need to get healthy or we could end up with some health issues that we dont want or need! If any of yall find good links or fun tips please post- I love new information!
xo.

Well, another day down. Almost. Sumo is out with a few of his friends: something they call 'Weekend of Gayness.' Probably not politically correct, but they don't mean it in a homosexual way: Rather, it's just them doing nothing but playing video games, eating and drinking (though not Sumo). So, that means I'm at home. Alone. With the kitchen so close by. All I have to do is open the pantry door and climb up on the chair to reach the top shelf: where the good stuff is. I don't know why it's calling my name tonight, but I think I may go crazy. I need a bottle of water.
Oh, and about water... Fairfax county is rated on the top 5 in the country for the quality of their water; Excellent, I've got great water! Too bad it smells and tastes like a swimming pool. So much chlorine... I think I got sick from it yesterday. Yuck!
I made a big crock pot full of soup today for my work-week lunches. Chipotle Chicken Stew: Lotsa beans with tomatoes and chipotles and chicken. Smells good. All the beans make it pretty high in calories though, so I gotta find something else for next week.
I am working out... Slightly. But as I haven't worked out since quitting the best gym ever - www.mintfitness.com - and moving halfway across the world (ok, 12 miles out of the city), my workouts seems pretty tough. Right now, I'm just doing cardio. I'll add in some weights in about 2 weeks. It's nice having the entire Arrested Development series to work out to.
Man, I've written a long post, but I'm glad I did. I don't feel like raiding the top shelf to scarf some snacks anymore. That water is still sounding good though. Not the tap,the bottle.

Weighed in...It's bad. I don't even want to say the number. I guess saying the number forces you to realize the issue though. So, here goes:...156...Yuck. That feels awful rolling off my tongue. It sure does make the elliptical in the basement look good. So today, it's just eating healthy and 20 mins on the machine.

Well, I rang in the new year as expected. Drank two bottles of wine, one was Justin Ferns Christmas gift..oopps, and ate too much food. Weighed in on 1/1/10 and found myself to be a solid 198. Now that is on the scale in our kitchen which might be off a bit so on Monday, when back at school, I'll weigh in on the scale the wrestlers use. The daughters think they have this wrapped up, haha, little do they know or forget how much I like competiton!! The game is on you "goober peas". In April when you see me you'll think I'm nuts!!

As per our discussion over the deliciously grease-filled lunch of fried fish sandwiches, grilled cheese, pizza patty melts and crinkle-cut fries at Stamm's Dairy, we are beginning 2010 with a bang! Or, rather, with the sound of our fists pounding the counter after stepping off of the scale and realizing just how much that extra Christmas cookie cost us.
So, I've created this blog as a forum for us to communicate our progress and setbacks with our "get healthy" plan to each other. You can update as often, or as little, as you would like. You can post pictures, say your weight, mention the half-mile you just ran or rat on each other. For instance: Jessi, 92 days from now, when I've lost more than you, I'll be saying 'Suck it!' And you won't be singing 'I'm gonna win;' You'll be crying like the little girl that you are.
On that note, I'm going to head to bed and rest up. It's a new year and a new me (and you). I'll check back in the morning to update. But for now, in the words of Edward R. Murrow, 'Good night, and good luck.'
